3 project examples

  1. "Historic greenery in Scandinavia and Lithuania", a successful cooperation project between Lithuania, Denmark and Sweden 2011, followed by an EU Danish Presidency conference in Vilnius May 2012. The project focused on the cultural heritage issues of the protected areas and sites, archaeological deposits and buildings, including architecture and greeneries.
  2. "Documentation, characterisation and distribution of vegetatively propagated plant genetic resources", a fruitful network project between the Baltic countries, Finland, Norway and Sweden and the Nordic Genetic Resource Center (NordGen). The objective of the project was to introduce new users to the SESTO database implemented by NordGen, and to present the newly developed vegetatively propagated genetic resources module of the database.
  3. "Strengthening the local and regional level of public administration between Estonia, Sweden and Finland", study visits from the Union of Local Municipalities of Võru County/Estonia to the municipalities in Finland and Sweden. "A very good example of cooperation between local municipalities is the case of emerging the social and health care institutions of two local governments after a 2-years period of preparatory work in Vesilahti in 2013, offering by this a better standard of services and governance," says the project manager Kertu Künnapuu from the Union of Local Municipalities of Võru County.
