Decisions of the 2014 application round

The Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Public Administration has allocated €293,897 in support in 2014, which has been divided between 66 projects. The biggest amount allocated to a single project is €7000 and the smallest amount is €377.

The Mobility Programme supports the study visits, work placement trips and network meetings of officials and other public sector workers, thereby contributing to cooperation between the Nordic countries and Baltic States at the level of ministries, regional offices and local governments. Statistics 2014

"Since each project has to involve at least three countries, all of the Nordic and Baltic member states are fairly evenly represented as applicants or partners, or both," said programme coordinator Madis Kanarbik, head of the Tartu branch of the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia.
The most active participants in the programme are public administration workers from Sweden (21.4% of all projects), Estonia (17.8%) and Finland (16.8%). Click here to view in depth statistics.

In 2014, applicants could also look for partners interested in cooperation with the help of the NB8-Grants application system.

Project example

A good example of the networks operating with the support of the Mobility Programme is the 'Nordic-Baltic LULUCF Network for Climate-Friendly Land Use Measures' project, which was initiated by the Latvian Ministry of Agriculture, which received support in 2013 and studies the impact of forestry and agriculture on climate change. Experts from all Nordic and Baltic countries are involved in the project (NB8: Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden) and the work of the network has also attracted attention in the European Union. Next application round

Application deadline for 2015 is March 30. The online application system will open in the beginning of 2015. Please note that the programme is covering up to 60% of a project's travel and accommodation costs and daily allowances in 2015.

• register or log in if you are already user and start filling in the application - please note that you can fill in the application step by step until the deadline,
• don't forget to submit your application before the deadline - March 30!

About the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Public Administration

The programme offers grants for mobility an annual budget of app. 300 000 EUR and is financed by all NB8 countries – Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. The purpose of the programme is to promote and strengthen cooperation, exchange of knowledge, and networking between public administration structures on all administrative levels in the Nordic-Baltic Region. The programme aims to facilitate the harmonization of more efficient working methods in the public sector. The overall goal is to increase the global competitive power of the region.
